MOONEE VALLEY R2
TIME – 1.30PM
#4 DIRECT (2nd) #6 MR SCOREFIELD (4th)
Direct looked pretty impressive beating Prince Amongst Men in a jump-out at Caulfield, that galloper went well in the Ballarat two-year-old race. Latest jump-out sat out wide and was hardly tested against Sunday Yum Cha. I caught the jump-out of Mr Score this morning, watching the Ballarat jump-outs. He won the heat beating some older winners, including Give Val a Ring, Bones and Bam’s on Fire, have to have something on at those odds.
Back Both Direct $11 – Mr $46
Exotics – 4,6,13,17
Early Quad – 4,6,10,13,16/1,10,11,13,14/1,2,3,8/4,5,7,8
Quad – 2,3,4,6,9,11,13/1,3,4,6,7,9/1,2,5,8,10/1,13
WAGGA R3
TIME – 12.51PM
#1 DREADNOUGHT #6 ZAR IZ NOMORE
I thought Dread was okay in a trial behind Royal Marine and Lewis. That trial was on soft ground and the rest have been on heavy. Have to give a chance on the dry ground here. Zar trialled up decent before the debut. First go at the races was poor but always have to forgive a horse for one bad run and this field is pretty avg.
Dread $51 – Zar $10
Exotics – 1,2,5,6
Early Quad – 6/2,5,7/1,2,5,6/4,6,11
MOONEE VALLEY R5
TIME – 3.20PM
#8 OCEAN BEYOND (WON)
Looks a nice type and if he can sit fairly handy, he should take a bit to run down. His jump-out before the debut win was very good and he beat Here to Shock on debut, that galloper has franked the form by winning since. Drops a couple kg too. Red Peroni is the roughie that looks a slight chance, will appreciate the step up in distance
Win Ocean – $5.60 – small saver on Red $41
Exotics – 4,5,7,8
YARRA VALLEY R1 Terrible
TIME – 1.11PM
Going to be an exotic race this one. BATTLE TEARS was ridden late but went with Safin, Gumnuts was behind. DESTINY’S REPUBLIC caught the eye when unnamed and recently went over the line with Aristo Missile, a horse who I like. KOOKY KANGAROO won a jump-out untested but unsure of the opposition. SAINT MAHJONG travelled better than Ilovethegame in a recent jump-out and was untested against Lani Bang Bang and Tycoon Bella. Spirit of Giving and Heeza Commander bring the best benchmark figures and get included only as place chances. Happy to risk Queen Ryker, think the recent jump-out will be overrated and I can not box the field. (Nearly are though) Hoping one of the first starters from the smaller stables can win and inject some odds.
Exotics – 1,2,4,14 / Wider 1,2,4,14/1,2,3,4,7,14 Ex.Tri.F4
Having something on Kooky Kanga $13.20 – Saint Mah $7.60
