| Been going through the early mail and doing the stats on trainers, jockeys and Tracks. With O’Shea we are 50%, 1 win from 2 runners, with J Mac we are 3 from 4 (75%). In the first trial he matched motors with In the Congo and looked to go better to my eye, they put a big gap on the rest of the field after the line, which included subs winners. J Mac had a decent hold here in this trial. Quiet time here, winner and 3rd have won a race. Although he won the most recent trial, I thought it was a bit flattening, he was ridden slightly to pick up which he did respond but I would have liked to see a bit more of a sprint, although it was on the polytrack, so I think you can be forgiving. Going through the stats/spreadsheet it’s mostly confirmed my gut feel and that was to stay clear of big staking on the smaller trainers and less profile jockeys but it appears J Mac gets the job done most times when we are on. Would not be surprised to see drift a bit again come race day |
