HAMILTON R3 |
2.30PM |
#13 SUMMIT QUEEN ($10) X1.5 Staked fixed – 1.5 Stake tote + #5 IRUNTHISCITY ($12) – 1 Stake fixed – 0.25 tote |
Summit Queen was a big bet on debut, looked like a leader to me going off the j/o’s and then ended up with cover there at Ararat, to the eye looked to be disapointing but stable was on radio this morning and reported there was a noise with breathing, hence the tongue tie going on, a gear change I take notice of. The stable mentioned they were pretty confident going into that debut run so it wasn’t obviously just our money going on, which was my concern, dare say the stable were having a go too. Recent j/o was okay, had Beltoro behind, subs beaten 1.95L in a Bm70. Got to have something on again, most would see how many previous early mail horses bob up in the winners stall at some stage, sometimes when I give up. Stablemate IRUNTHISCITY looks a bit shifty, would not be surprised if had the heavy jock on in a j/o and recent j/o was against some nice types, blinkers on for debut and pretty sure didn’t have them on in j/o. Topeka has to go in exotics if you are betting that way. Need to update stats soon but looking at Hamilton and D Bates, unreal. The market looks happy to lay these selections so if they firm after sending don’t worry I’m confident will get out again, Topeka looks the one they want to keep backing |
R4 #4 BELLMAN ($2.40) X4 Stake fixed – 1.5 Stake tote |
First j/o was impressive making good ground from the back to finish up with leaders, that’s my go to thing to look for, the slight knock from my view was the opposition but looking through Morrissette was behind and although a maiden, was sent around in group races. Next j/o thought was just ok at time, Petani did win on debut in good time, obviously slight issue because spelled. Recent j/o was behind the above Summit Queen and made some ground from back matching motors with Beltoro. Decent barrier and the thing that gives me more confidence with these 1400m races on debut is once you get out to those trips in the maidens the raced horses are usually pretty avg, Moxatation looks okay but obviously limited after 6 starts, Jamaican Me Run the danger, ok form and D Bates. Stable sounded confident with Bellman on radio and if he is at least up to 64 grade you would think he can win this |
