PLYMOUTH was a stake bet on debut and was ridden very cold, would have had to be very smart to pick up leader who was good but also had it pretty easy in front, surely not ridden as cold this time you would have to think. Was with Athanatos after the line who seems a good benchmark for mine subs running 2nd in a BM 64 at Flemington. $100 in the Caulfield Guineas and $51 in the Derby. I put a couple dollars on. THE MUFFIN MAN wasn’t showing much to my eye but the blinkers looked to improve when they went on in the trial, showed more speed and was ridden hard but I thought not a bad effort to stick on with Saufiana and Indian Jewel was asked to go a bit and was behind and would be hard to beat in this I would think, if went forward could keep kicking at odds. EXPRESS GUARD another that was a stake bet on debut and was ridden way too cold for that horse, showed it needed a fair bit of riding in trial but stuck on okay and was ridden like had a turn of foot in race. If ridden less cute wouldn’t shock to see win and show what I had seen beforehand, goes in exotics. Hot too Go thought went okay early days but can get stuffed now, goes in exotics for mental health. Perfectly Good exotics, should have finished closer last start or in front. Royal Hill goes in if I think Express Guard goes okay. Swamped I’ve written place, might be one paced but think will keep coming. Couldn’t find in Derby market. Pretty sure Think Like Paddy had something on debut, showed f all, goes in exotics for mental health. Mollify ran okay on debut, wouldn’t shock, has that Athanatos formline. Went with El Calafate as the win bet because jumped out with Chewing Gum, was under more riding than Chewing but did stick on and at least know that should mean will respond to riding on race day. Point Be looked good first j/o and then second was under riding with Duchess of Argyll so no knock there, think can win a maiden but I’m just betting on Chewing Gum being better than Duchess.
