| I was loving this guys trials before the first up run. He was chomping at the bit behind subsequent winners and was making a stack of ground after the line. I was quite keen on him at that debut run and had a decent bet EW when he was going around at $25-1 and of course he finished 4th. Still hard to take watching the replay again. He was ridden very negative, sitting at the rear but once the jockey gave him a reminder in the straight he switched on the turbo and flew home in the fastest last 200m. The winner has gone on to win a benchmark 78 and this guy was with him after the line and that was only 1200m. Liked the work late in the first trial this prep behind the quick Green Kudos. At the time I was a bit concerned about the 2nd trial because he was under the whip but that was only 900m and the winner Jenga has since come out and bolted in to show she can gallop pretty fast. Now, hopefully he is not restrained back to last again and the long straight should be suitable for him to wind up and go bang |
